Been down to the Yatley Complex in Hampshire about 6 times now, we have a Spring permit. In all had 4 Bream out, all a good size, but its been a struggle with either very cold or hot conditions.
I can’t help feel the fish are more interested in spawning, but in early April we seemed to have the better days. The fishery is quite large and never seems to be all that busy, we always find a swim we want.
I’ve mainly be using my locslide float and on the other rod, a large feeder using soft bolies or sweetcorn as hook bait.

Visited the River Wey at the end of the season, quite warm in the sun but a brisk chilly wind, I fished the end of the Abbey Stream and used my Drennan Ledgermaster and cheese paste. Got a few good bites but caught nothing.
Took a few pics of the bullocks in the field!

Visited Langmans today, but very windy and found our fav swims to have been tapped off. Did’nt stay very long, but hoping to get out tomorrow. Weather is still causing us grief with the rain being the main problem now.

Hi all, not been /m much the last 2 months or so, mainly due to me changing cars. I now have a Skoda Octavia and its taken me a while to get the antenna mounted due to weather.
Derek, G3WHK kindly offered to help fix the mount onto the car and showed me a better way of running the feeder and earthing.
Firstly we had to use my smaller mount, however I only use a discreet dual band whip when on the move so no issue there. I had covered the hatch in Ventureshield to help protect against scratches, I also had some braid to hand.
Once the mount was fixed we ran a braid from a bolt on the hatch to the antenna mount using a crimp connector. I have painted the fixings and bolt again to make it look neat.
We ran an earth from a seat fixing to the body of the radio plus put around 5 or 6 turns on the feeder.
No issues on the SWR, better on 6M in fact and like nothing on 2M and 70cms. HF needs tweaking but useable via ATU. When its warmer I need to visit the park and tune them up.

Only got out once during the Xmas leave period, that was to the Tannery fishery at Send. No bites but was very cold and lots of water going through.
Next outing should be pike fishing.

Noticed NS was rather weak the last few days. So checked my feeder and found it open circuit, so ordered replacement from W&S;, thatw as also faulty! Anyway, ended up repairing both!

Well pleased with a rather angry Common from the Wey, put up a hell of a fight and took ages to go back but well worth it. Caught on JB Barbel Boilies!
